| The purpose of the North Star Herding Group Club Junior
Showmanship fund is to help fund expenses of junior members of our
club (age 9-18) who exhibit dogs in AKC dog events through stipends
and scholarships. AN annual secondary education scholarship
may be offered to one deserving junior per year. This fund is
geared to benefit junior members who participate in ALL venues of
AKC dog showing open to herding breeds of dogs.
Junior members must be active members in the club. They
must attend at least 2 meetings per year and participate in club
functions. Juniors must demonstrate a "C" average and acceptable
attendance in school. Juniors with poor attendance in school
do not show a commitment to school and will not be considered for
scholarships or stipends that may be paid for time spent away from
school.
The Junior Participation Committee determines criteria for
dispersing funds to individuals. Juniors will be eligible for
one $200 stipend to attend such important shows as National Specialties,
, Westminster, and other same important events.
Proof that the junior has participated is necessary to access money
from the fund.
Scholarships for secondary education
candidates may be offered once a year if the fund has the money to
offer a scholarship and there is a candidate that year.
Scholarship money will be paid directly to the school and not the
scholarship winner.
The application below must be completed and
submitted in order to
